Application for Lead Video Editor
I’m thrilled to be considered for the Lead Video Editor role at Rivian. For more than 15 years, I have worked as a professional videographer, editor, motion graphic artist, and sound design professional, creating visually refined brand stories from concept through final delivery. I’m excited by the opportunity to bring that full-stack creative experience to a company whose products, values, and sense of adventure I genuinely believe in.

Media Management and Editorial Support
For Tom Beckbe and Ducks Unlimited, I filmed and edited a series of short conservation stories centered on bird habitat, land restoration, and the people doing the work. Shot in Sony Log, the films use cinematic imagery to hold attention while grounding each narrative in a real sense of place. I layered natural sound, dialogue, music, and detailed sound design to place viewers in the environment—from wings and water to wind moving through restored habitat—creating an immersive connection between the conservation work and its impact.
For Orvis and KUIU, I created motion graphics and branded video assets that supported product stories while staying true to each brand’s visual language. Using Premiere Pro and After Effects, I designed and animated lower thirds, callouts, kinetic typography, and graphic elements that made product details clear without interrupting the pace or feel of the films. The work was built to be polished, flexible, and consistent across campaign and social deliverables.
For Ooni Pizza Ovens, I expanded creative campaigns into platform-specific video for widescreen, vertical, and square formats. I also created the motion graphics and captions in multiple languages for a range of fast-turn social edits and traditional advertising. This work included testing opening hooks, and developing multiple versions of product and campaign assets. The work balanced Ooni’s premium visual identity with pacing and formats designed to earn attention across social channels.
Across multiple client campaigns, I have supported collaborative editorial workflows by preparing project files, creating proxies, building motion graphics templates, balancing color, and managing detailed versioning through delivery. I maintain organized media pipelines with clear naming conventions, folder structures, and dependable asset management so editors, producers, and creative teams can work efficiently from the same source of truth. This technical discipline allows me to move quickly in fast-paced campaigns while keeping projects clean, adaptable, and ready for review or handoff.
Dear Rivian Creative Studio Hiring Team,
I’m excited to apply for the Lead Video Editor position at Rivian. I’m looking to join a premier brand where great creative work is treated as essential, and where the product behind the work is one I can genuinely stand behind. Rivian’s commitment to adventure, thoughtful design, and protecting the places that inspire us aligns closely with both my values and the kinds of stories I have built my career around.
With more than 15 years of experience in commercial video, motion graphics, visual effects, sound design, color, and photography, I bring a full-stack post-production perspective to brand storytelling. My work has supported campaigns for Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Ooni, Orvis, Ducks Unlimited, and other brands working at the intersection of product, place, and adventure.
At Ooni, I worked as an editor and motion graphic artist across product, brand, and social content. I shaped narratives from raw camera footage for marketing and product-launch campaigns; prepped projects, created proxies and selects, color balanced footage, and managed complex versioning. I also designed and animated brand-accurate lower thirds, callouts, kinetic typography, and graphics templates; assembled dialogue and music; and created sound design and polished audio mixes.
That work required translating campaign briefs into effective widescreen, vertical, and square deliverables, with careful attention to hooks, pacing, safe zones, and platform-specific editing. It also required disciplined media management, consistent naming and folder structures, and close collaboration with creative, marketing, and social teams. I am highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, and DaVinci Resolve, including high-bitrate footage, proxy workflows, color management, and fast-turn editorial pipelines.
I want to help Rivian make work that earns attention because it is visually exceptional, emotionally grounded, and true to the product. I would welcome the opportunity to bring editorial judgment, technical precision, and a collaborative approach to Rivian’s Creative Studio.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Lane Peters
